Photon counting
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008895
A highly sensitive detection technique used to measure very low light intensities by individually detecting and counting photons. This method employs detectors such as photomultiplier tubes or avalanche photodiodes, which produce a discrete electrical pulse for each incident photon. It is widely used in fluorescence spectroscopy and microscopy.
