Fluorescence yield
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004524
The ratio of the number of photons emitted by fluorescence to the number of photons absorbed by a substance. It quantifies the efficiency of the fluorescence process, indicating how many absorbed photons result in light emission rather than other deactivation pathways. A fluorescence yield of 1.0 signifies that every absorbed photon leads to an emitted photon.
