Quantum efficiency
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009762
The number of events of a specified kind, such as molecules reacting or photons emitted, divided by the number of photons absorbed by the system; for a primary photochemical process it equals the quantum yield. In detectors and photovoltaic devices, external quantum efficiency instead uses the photons incident on the device as the denominator, and a value of 1 means one electron per photon.
