Flat band potential
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004477
The electrode potential at which the energy bands of a semiconductor electrode are flat, meaning there is no band bending at the semiconductor-electrolyte interface. At this potential, the electric field within the semiconductor near the surface is zero. It is a fundamental parameter for characterizing semiconductor-electrolyte junctions and can be determined from Mott-Schottky plots.
