Atmosphere

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000881

A non-SI unit of pressure, historically defined as the pressure exerted by a column of mercury 760 mm high at 0 °C and standard gravity. It is approximately equal to the average atmospheric pressure at sea level. One standard atmosphere (atm) is precisely defined as 101 325 pascals (Pa).
