Composition of pure air

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002335

The relative abundance of the constituent gases in the Earth's atmosphere, excluding water vapor and pollutants. Dry air at sea level is primarily nitrogen (approximately 78.08% by volume) and oxygen (approximately 20.95% by volume). Argon accounts for about 0.93%, with trace amounts of carbon dioxide, neon, helium, methane, krypton, and hydrogen making up the remainder.
