Dobson unit
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003367
A unit of measurement used to describe the total amount of ozone in a vertical column of the Earth's atmosphere. One Dobson Unit (DU) corresponds to a layer of pure ozone 0.01 millimeters thick at standard temperature and pressure (0 °C and 1 atmosphere). The global average total column ozone is approximately 300 DU.
