Carboxamidines
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001659
Organic compounds characterized by the functional group -C(=NH)NH2, which contains a carbon atom double-bonded to one nitrogen and single-bonded to another nitrogen. They are derivatives of carboxylic acids where the carbonyl oxygen is replaced by an imine group and the hydroxyl group by an amino group. Carboxamidines are basic compounds and can act as ligands in coordination chemistry.
