Endothelium

A single layer of flattened cells that forms the inner lining of all blood vessels, lymphatic vessels, and the heart. This cellular barrier regulates the exchange of molecules between blood or lymph and the surrounding tissues. It also influences vascular tone, blood coagulation, and inflammatory responses.
