Endotherm
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003905
An organism that maintains its body temperature through internal metabolic processes, independent of the external environment. This physiological regulation allows the organism to operate within a narrow range of optimal temperatures. Mammals and birds are examples of endothermic animals, typically maintaining body temperatures between 35 and 42 degrees Celsius.
