Acidosis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000143
A physiological condition characterized by an excess of acid in the body fluids, leading to a decrease in blood pH below the normal range. This imbalance can be caused by metabolic or respiratory issues, such as kidney failure or hypoventilation. Normal human arterial blood pH is maintained between 7.35 and 7.45.
