Hyperkalemia
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013173
An elevated concentration of potassium ions in the blood serum, surpassing the normal physiological range. This imbalance can result from impaired kidney function, certain medications, or conditions that cause potassium to shift out of cells. Normal serum potassium levels are typically maintained between 3.5 and 5.0 millimoles per liter (mmol/L).
