Hyponatremia

A condition characterized by an abnormally low concentration of sodium ions in the blood plasma. This electrolyte imbalance can lead to cellular swelling, particularly in brain cells, and can cause symptoms ranging from nausea to seizures. Normal serum sodium concentrations are typically between 135 and 145 millimoles per liter.
