Hyperbilirubinemia

An elevated concentration of bilirubin in the blood, exceeding the normal physiological range. This condition results from an imbalance between bilirubin production and its clearance by the liver. It is clinically manifested as jaundice, where the skin and sclera of the eyes appear yellow due to bilirubin deposition.
