Hyperalimentation

The administration of nutrients beyond the normal dietary intake, typically intravenously, to provide complete nutritional support for individuals unable to consume adequate food orally. This method, also known as total parenteral nutrition, is used to prevent or correct malnutrition. It delivers essential amino acids, glucose, lipids, vitamins, and minerals directly into the bloodstream.
