Bolus

A single, relatively large dose of a substance, such as a drug or nutrient, administered intravenously or orally over a short period. This method aims to achieve a rapid and high concentration of the substance in the bloodstream or target tissue. In toxicology, a bolus dose can be used to study acute effects of a chemical.
