Icterus

A medical condition characterized by yellow discoloration of the skin, mucous membranes, and whites of the eyes, caused by elevated levels of bilirubin in the blood. This yellowing, also known as jaundice, indicates an underlying issue with liver function, bile ducts, or red blood cell breakdown. Bilirubin levels above 2.5 mg/dL typically result in visible icterus.
