Purpura

The appearance of purple-colored spots on the skin, mucous membranes, or internal organs, caused by bleeding underneath the surface. This condition results from extravasation of blood from small blood vessels, leading to discoloration that does not blanch under pressure. It can range in size from petechiae (pinpoint spots) to ecchymoses (larger bruises).
