Jaundice

A medical condition characterized by a yellowish discoloration of the skin, mucous membranes, and whites of the eyes, caused by elevated levels of bilirubin in the blood. Bilirubin is a yellow pigment formed from the breakdown of red blood cells. This condition can result from liver disease, obstruction of bile ducts, or excessive red blood cell destruction.
