Janus-family tyrosine kinase
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006281
A family of intracellular non-receptor tyrosine kinases that associate with cytokine receptors and are activated upon ligand binding. These enzymes phosphorylate specific tyrosine residues on the receptor and downstream signaling molecules, initiating intracellular signaling cascades. Four members of this family, JAK1, JAK2, JAK3, and TYK2, are known in mammals.
