Zeta chain-associated protein kinase-70 kDa
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012807
A tyrosine kinase enzyme expressed in T lymphocytes and natural killer cells that is integral to initiating T-cell receptor signaling. Upon T-cell activation, this protein, abbreviated as ZAP-70, is recruited to the receptor complex where it phosphorylates downstream adaptors, leading to a signaling cascade. Mutations in the gene encoding ZAP-70 can cause a form of severe combined immunodeficiency in humans.
