B-cell receptor
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001152
A transmembrane protein complex located on the surface of B lymphocytes that recognizes and binds to specific antigens. This receptor consists of a membrane-bound immunoglobulin molecule associated with signaling proteins (Igα and Igβ). Antigen binding to the B-cell receptor initiates a cascade of intracellular signaling events, leading to B-cell activation.
