Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005681
A class of antibody that is the first to be produced during a primary immune response and is typically found as a pentamer in serum. It is also present as a monomer on the surface of B lymphocytes, acting as a B-cell receptor. IgM is highly effective at activating the complement system and agglutinating antigens.
