Immunoglobulin D
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005675
A class of antibody primarily found on the surface of naive B lymphocytes, where it functions as a B-cell receptor for antigen recognition. Its precise role in immune responses is not fully understood, but it is thought to be involved in B-cell activation and differentiation. IgD is present in very low concentrations in serum.
