Immunoglobulin or T-cell receptor lymphocyte repertoire

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005682

The complete collection of all unique immunoglobulin (B-cell receptor) and T-cell receptor molecules expressed by the B and T lymphocytes within an organism at a given time. This diversity is generated by somatic recombination of gene segments, creating a vast array of antigen-binding specificities. The size and composition of the repertoire reflect the individual's history of antigen exposure and its capacity to respond to new pathogens.
