Diversity gene
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003356
A specific gene segment, also known as a D gene, that contributes to the variability of immunoglobulin and T-cell receptor genes. These segments are found between the variable (V) and joining (J) gene segments. During V(D)J recombination, one D gene segment is randomly selected and joined to V and J segments, forming a unique antigen-binding site.
