Common variable immunodeficiency

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002281

A primary immunodeficiency disorder characterized by low levels of most or all immunoglobulin isotypes, particularly immunoglobulin G (IgG), IgA, and IgM. This condition results in a failure to produce a proper antibody response following antigen exposure, leading to recurrent bacterial infections, especially of the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts. Diagnosis is confirmed by measuring serum immunoglobulin levels and assessing the antibody response to vaccines.
