Phospholipase Cγ
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008779
An enzyme that hydrolyzes phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2) into inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (IP3) and diacylglycerol (DAG). This cleavage initiates a signaling cascade within cells, leading to calcium mobilization and protein kinase C activation. The enzyme is activated by receptor tyrosine kinases and is involved in immune cell signaling.
