Jejunum

The middle section of the small intestine, located between the duodenum and the ileum. It is primarily responsible for the absorption of nutrients, including carbohydrates, amino acids, and fatty acids, into the bloodstream. The jejunum is characterized by numerous folds and villi that increase its surface area for efficient absorption.
