Neutrophilic organisms
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007927
Microorganisms that grow and thrive in environments with a neutral or near-neutral pH. Their internal cellular pH is maintained close to neutral, even if the external environment fluctuates slightly. Most known bacteria and protozoa are neutrophiles, exhibiting optimal growth in a pH range between 6.0 and 8.0.
