r-strategy

A reproductive strategy characterized by the production of many offspring with a high growth rate, short lifespan, and minimal parental care. Organisms employing this strategy, known as r-strategists, typically thrive in unstable or unpredictable environments where rapid colonization and reproduction are advantageous. Examples include many insects and bacteria.
