Fluid feeder

An organism that obtains nutrients by consuming liquids, either by sucking, licking, or filtering fluids from its environment or from other organisms. This feeding strategy is common among insects, such as mosquitoes and butterflies, and some vertebrates. Fluid feeders often possess specialized mouthparts adapted for extracting and ingesting liquids.
