Suspension feeder

An aquatic organism that obtains food particles by filtering them from the water column. These organisms typically possess specialized structures, such as cilia, mucus nets, or baleen, to capture plankton, detritus, or other suspended organic matter. Clams, sponges, and baleen whales are examples of suspension feeders.
