Food-mass feeder
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004581
An animal that feeds by taking bites or chunks of the bodies of other animals, as opposed to a fluid feeder that takes up body fluids or a filter feeder that strains small particles from the water. A wolf tearing flesh from its prey is an example. The feeding types are used to classify animals in ecotoxicology when judging how a contaminant reaches them through their diet.
