Suspension potentiometric cell
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011703
An electrochemical cell designed for potentiometric measurements, such as pH, in a multiphase system containing suspended solid particles. The setup includes a sensing electrode and a reference electrode immersed in the liquid phase of the suspension, which is kept homogeneous by stirring. A key challenge is the suspension effect, a junction potential that arises at the interface between the reference electrode's salt bridge and the suspension.
