Ion-selective electrode cell
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006147
An electrochemical cell constructed for the potentiometric measurement of a specific ion's activity in a solution. It consists of an ion-selective electrode, which responds to the target ion, and a reference electrode, which maintains a constant potential, both immersed in the sample solution. The potential difference between these two electrodes is measured to determine the ion activity.
