Silver electrode
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010866
An electrode constructed from silver metal, frequently used as a reference electrode or an indicator electrode in electroanalytical chemistry. When used as a reference electrode, it is typically coated with silver chloride and immersed in a chloride solution. As an indicator electrode, it responds to the concentration of silver ions or other ions that form insoluble silver salts.
