Homogeneous crystalline membrane ion-selective electrode

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005364

An ion-selective electrode featuring a membrane made from a single, continuous crystalline material, such as a sparingly soluble inorganic salt. This membrane functions by selective ion exchange or transport, generating a potential difference that is proportional to the logarithm of the activity of a specific ion in the sample solution. Examples include electrodes based on silver halides for halide ion detection.
