Homogeneous crystalline membrane electrodes
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005363
Ion-selective electrodes where the membrane consists of a single, continuous crystalline phase that is uniformly composed throughout. These membranes are typically formed from sparingly soluble inorganic salts or mixtures thereof, which exhibit selective ion exchange properties. The potential developed across the membrane is directly related to the activity of the specific ion in the sample solution.
