Heterogeneous crystalline membrane electrodes
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005244
Ion-selective electrodes constructed by incorporating finely ground crystalline material into an inert polymer matrix, such as PVC or silicone rubber. The crystalline material provides the ion-selective properties, while the polymer acts as a binder and support. These electrodes are often used for the determination of specific ions in solution, such as chloride or fluoride.
