Membranes with mobile charged sites

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007167

Ion-selective membranes containing charged species that are not fixed within the membrane matrix but can move freely within it. These mobile charged sites facilitate the transport of counter-ions across the membrane, contributing to its electrical conductivity and ion selectivity. Such membranes are commonly used in liquid membrane ion-selective electrodes.
