Iteroparous species
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006272
A species that reproduces multiple times over the course of its lifespan, rather than a single reproductive event. Organisms exhibiting this reproductive strategy typically invest less energy in each reproductive episode but have a longer reproductive period. Many mammals, birds, and perennial plants are examples of iteroparous species.
