Eutherian

Relating to placental mammals, a group characterized by the presence of a placenta that allows for a prolonged gestation period within the mother's uterus. This advanced reproductive strategy provides extensive nourishment and protection to the developing fetus. Humans, dogs, and whales are examples of eutherian mammals.
