Solidus

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011005

A curve in a phase diagram that represents the temperatures at which a given mixture of chemical components begins to melt upon heating or finishes solidifying upon cooling. Below the solidus, the substance is entirely solid. The solidus is distinct from the liquidus, which marks the temperature at which melting is complete.
