Monotectoid temperature

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007564

The specific temperature at which a monotectoid reaction occurs in a solid-state system. At this invariant temperature, a single solid phase decomposes reversibly into two other distinct solid phases upon cooling, or vice versa upon heating. This temperature is a fixed point on a phase diagram for a given composition.
