Monotectoid reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007563
A reversible invariant reaction in a solid-state system where one solid phase transforms into two other distinct solid phases upon cooling. This occurs at a specific temperature and composition, analogous to a monotectic reaction but entirely within the solid state. The reaction is represented by S1 → S2 + S3, where S represents a solid phase.
