Euatmotic reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004116
A reversible reaction at constant temperature in which two or more solid phases, on heating, convert entirely into one vapour phase. It is the vapour counterpart of a eutectic reaction, whose product is a liquid. It differs from the thermal decomposition of a single solid, such as calcium carbonate into calcium oxide and carbon dioxide, which leaves a new solid behind.
