Euclidean distance
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004117
The ordinary straight-line separation of two points in a space of any number of dimensions. It is obtained by squaring each coordinate difference, adding these squares, and taking the square root of the total. Chemometrics uses it to judge how alike two spectra, chromatograms or other measurement vectors are, small values meaning close similarity.
