Calcination

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001568

A thermal treatment process applied to solid materials, usually in the presence of air or an inert atmosphere, at temperatures below their melting point. This process causes thermal decomposition, phase transitions, or the removal of volatile components. It is frequently used in the production of catalysts, ceramics, and cement.
