Oxide network

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008396

A three-dimensional structure formed by the covalent bonding of metal or metalloid oxide units. These networks are often created through sol-gel processes, where precursor molecules hydrolyze and condense to form a continuous inorganic framework. The properties of an oxide network, such as its porosity and mechanical strength, depend on the specific metal oxide and the synthesis conditions.
